Home Dekor Interiors has been providing innovative home furnishings at affordable prices with consistent, imaginative design and the maximum level of customer service for three generations.

Home Dekor Interiors is a pioneer in the discounting – meet or beat reliable prices – operation. Our library of almost 1,000 manufacturer’s catalogues has always been a handy way to assist customers in creating a beautiful home at an affordable price.

Most of our business is from word of mouth. Home Dekor Interiors is now servicing great-grandchildren of our original customers, when we were located on Park Avenue South, in New York City.

Steven started out as a child running the elevator for his grandfather’s business. It wasn’t too long before he realized he had an innate knowledge of decorating; as well as a fabulous color sense. He graduated as a decorator and has an A.S.I.D. license. Steven’s talent is well known in the business. So is his memory. If a customer comes into our store and describes a piece of furniture they saw in another state, months ago, he will, with just a little time, grab the correct catalogue and show the customer the furniture they are seeking.

When Home Dekor Interiors moved to Valley Stream five years ago, Steven decided that in order to build the business, he would offer a “home decorating service”. For a small fee, that is deducted from the bill upon the purchase of furniture, Steven will go to the customer’s home, measure as many rooms as the customer requests, and provide several floor plan view of the room for the customer to choose from when they are ready to decorate the room. Home Dekor Interiors does not go shopping with the customer’s for paint, flooring, accessories, etc., however. We have several A.S.I.D. decorators that we work closely with. When it is time to “finish” the room, we will recommend any one of these decorators who will work with the customer for a nominal fee directly. This is just another service provided by us to the public.

Speaking of decorators, when we moved to Valley Stream, word quickly spread among the local (Nassau and Suffolk, as well as Queens) decorators of our services. Many, many decorators bring their clients, or purchase through our store. Most of these decorators do the leg work, then come to us. They all tell us, it is better than going to the D & D building (Decorator & Design Building in New York City).

After the furniture is delivered, we send letters thanking the customer. When a customer recommends someone to our store who makes a substantial purchase, we sent the original customer a beautiful can of home made cookies. Also, when anyone purchases a substantial amount of furniture from our store, we send them a can of home made cookies. Customer relations is our number one priority.

We now have a wonderful staff. Steven works full time, his wife and three other ladies all work part time. There is a full time office staff as well. Anyone who calls with any questions, or problems, will be helped by whom ever answers the phone. Customer’s do not have to speak with their salesperson in order to get an answer. Customer’s are encouraged to make appointments for Saturday; but, can come any time during the week without an appointment. Home Dekor Interiors is closed on Sunday. Normal business hours are always 9 am to 5 pm.
